2011, a milestone in Saúde Criança history

The year of 2011 is a milestone in the history of Associação Saúde Criança. Since the beginning of this year, we count on the precious pro bono partnership of DM9 – one of the biggest marketing agencies in Brazil – that has joined our team creating a communication plan, already being implemented.

In February, I participated in the TEDxRio, when my speech was heard all around the world, via internet. In June, I  participated in TEDxVilaMadá, in São Paulo, where once more I explained our work, done by more than 700 volunteers that have already worked in the organization, workers who love the cause and individuals, national and international institutions that daily make our mission possible.

Unfortunately, we unexpectedly lost of one of the major supporters of Saúde Criança, Dr. Odilon Arantes, counselor, chief of pediatrics of Hospital da Lagoa from 1991 to 2008 and my dear friend.

We have worked harder for the sustainability of our institution. In June, a new kiosk opened at BarraShopping, one of the biggest shoppings in Rio, to sell products “Saúde Criança”.

In October, we celebrated the 20 years of the Association in three different ceremonies, all special and unforgettable.

Also in October, Saúde Criança´s newest franchise opened in São Paulo, the biggest city in Brazil. This year was full of work and conquests.

To close it with a golden key, we received three important compliments: JWT and Volans included my name  in their ranking “50 Stars in Seriously Long-Term Innovation”, together with big stars of entrepreneurship; in Brazil, we were honored with two awards granted by BPW-Rio – Association of Businesswomen and Professional Women of Rio de Janeiro. And, last but not least, Saúde Criança won the challenge More Health, promoted by Ashoka, a pioneer in the field of social innovation that supports entrepreneurs from all over the world.

We are sure that 2012 shall be excellent. With our desire to change the world, we will be ready to receive new families in many Brazilian regions, sure that their lives will change.

Our deepest thank to our counselors, workers, volunteers, sponsors, partners, godparents and other supporters. Without you, this dream would not come true!
